Introduction

The following pages have been created as a repository for the research carried out by students in the course ARTS1091. Within each active country link you will find* a guide to media ownership and the regulatory systems that are in place in that country to monitor the media organisations listed. An overview of the Australian media landscape has been included as an example for students to follow in creating their own pages.
Please note the following pages are all created and edited by undergraduate university students. Information in these pages was current at the time of creation (in some instances this is 2011, in others 2012).
*This information was last updated in the second half of 2012.

Referencing your entries

In completing your entries in the Global Media Maps you are asked to reference any materials you take from other sources using the HARVARD referencing system, as outlined in the guidelines at UNSW. We have provided links here for you to refer to as you work. You are not expected to memorise these systems: rather, you should use the guidelines to help you to correctly reference ALL materials according to the type of source you have taken it from.
